I am an interior architect with 14+ years experience in large-scale commercial projects.
ProjectsEdelman, a full service global public relations frm, came to us for the design of their new 20,000 sf Seattle agency. The team designed a fexible environment, one based on a universal plan that maximized workplace performance and was responsive to Edelman’s future growth.
BACKThis project was a significant challenge in that the client wanted to update a Class-A offi ce building at the center of Seattle’s retail core. While the building owners anticipated a simple cosmetic upgrade, our team showed that through a more comprehensive program change and architectural upgrades, the building could be reinstated as one of Seattle’s premier addresses.
BACKWhen these new business realities create new requirements for its call centers, this client rose to the occasion to develop a new call center concept, one that sought to move from an environment of high-turnover to one of high employee engagement, where employees’ career paths could be developed through a rich and continuous learning experience that is tied directly to insights on customer reactions to our client’s products and services.
In making these new call centers places of knowledge and community, they could provide attractive, spacious and inspiring work environments that still enjoy world-class metrics performance.
BACKAs part of a multi-phase project to reinvent the company image, this client commissioned us to design the renovation of the campus Café with Servery and Check Out to elevate the employees experience.
A key component to this design is to provide the employees a modern and comfort environment to eat in while provide more than a dozen booths wired for laptops that have been added around the sides of the room. Comfy couches and ottomans form a casual area to relax near the coffee bar.
BACKBoeing looked to relocate their 737 MAX design team closer in proximity to the assembly line to accommodate four goals: Increase productivity; increase efficiency; increase communication between teams; and create a direct connection between their engineering staff and the manufacturing of the 737 MAX airplanes.
The solution was to create a “building within a building” – a 120,000 sf, two-level office building inside the WWII-era manufacturing factory.
BACKAs the only office outside of Menlo Park that houses engineers, Facebook’s Seattle office proximity to other technology giants has allowed it to tap into the deep engineering talent in the area. Their exponential growth – from a team of three to close to 100 in only two years – had them moving to a new location that can house up to 200 staff, and can change as quickly as they do.
Facebook is a creative company, where the spirit of making things permeates the culture. To this end, their new space encourages creating and building to connect engineers to the analog environment and to promote the human connection. Spaces such as the microkitchen, cozy rooms, pop-ups, parks and chill spaces help strike a balance between collaboration and focused work.

The landlord of skyline tower is looking to upgrade and refresh the building entry lobby to enhance the entry experience.
The main design goal is to bring in natural daylight in the lobby space, by upgrading the storefront system and entry canopy material, we are able to improve the daylight quality. We also worked with local artists to create the feature chandelier and art installation to make the space more welcoming.
BACKThe updated main entrance and the two new lobby spaces on the first and second floors celebrate the building as a showcase of sustainability and emphasize its owner’s commitment to environmental excellence. The new spaces are an integrated assembly of carefully chosen materials and components. The design represents a timeless solution that gives due heed to the existing building and its structural principles.
Through a series of simple architectural strategies the main entry plaza is given a sense of place and a human scale. A marquee is added on the tall concrete columns which, together with the stainless steel mesh above, ‘captures’ the space, making it feel safe and intimate. A bench successfully activates the plaza and draws people in. The formerly dark main lobby is made luminous and welcoming by updating window glazing, new ceramic flooring and back-painted glass panel siding.
BACKAs the centerpiece of One Market Street in San Francisco, the innovation center was designed to provide an immersive experience for clients and partners, where they can interact with Visa subject-matter experts, and explore new products and technologies.
The new space fosters interaction and real-time experimentation, and is expected to attract Bay Area technology talent who will develop the next generation of commerce solutions by working with the industry leader in payments.
BACKNotkin Wood Harbinger Alliance is a local engineering company. They have a long history in the NW area and the CEO is eager for the next chapter of the company and that includes a new office space. This new office is not only a workplace but a hub/lab for the employees to collaborate and cultivate a strong office culture.
The main design feature is the exposed ceiling where the mechanical and electrical equipment is exposed and strategically placed to celebrate their engineering background. These spaces are flexible and can be easily rearranged based on the function needed.
BACKHere is a collection of store design projects I worked on at Starbucks licensed store team. The projects involve the design and development of a new Starbucks store (or renovation of an existing location) aligned with Starbuck global design principles, local context, and sustainability standards.
